FedCon 30 | Vortrag | R2-D2 & Co. - Astromechs bauen | Andreas Lukas

R2-D2 is one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars universe. It’s not for nothing that he appears in (almost) every movie and series.

But can you build your own astromech droid? There are endless questions, which I would like to answer with my lecture R2-D2 & Co. – Building Astromechs. Besides building astromechs, I will of course also introduce the R2-Builders-Club as well as the various forums.

Contentwise I will inform about the different types of building (plastic, mixed, aluminum, 3D printing), how to get parts and which questions you should ask yourself in advance. Why? Building an astromech is a long-term project! You need stamina and honesty about your own abilities and possibilities to build.

So if you have always been enthusiastic about R2-D2 & Co. you can get a lot of background information about the originals and the droids built recently for the movies.

Lecturer: Andreas Lukas
Duration: 60 min  -  The Lecture will be held in: german
Born in 1969, I, Andreas Lukas, am a Star Wars fan from the very beginning, but to build my childhood hero myself - it was a long way until then. I built my first astromech in 12 months of work in 2015/16.

The contact to the Rebel Legion - German Base Yavin and later to the 501st Legion - German Garrison followed. Since then I have participated in many events with them - and of course I am a member of both costume clubs. In 2018/19 a second Astromch was added - he is now R2-KT and the eleventh "Ambassadroid" in the R2-KT program of Albin Johnson, the founder of the 501st Legion.

This year we will participate for the third time at FedCon together with German Base Yavin.
