FedCon 32 | Vortrag | Trekkie-Psychologie: Episode 2

Welcome to the “live-long-and-prosper academy”, where you will once again experience in a very practical way how and why the psychology of Star Trek works in our everyday lives. Even if you are not (yet) a Trekkie and only have a vague idea of psychology, after the LLAP Academy you will not only get to know the most important characters of this science fiction universe and benefit from their strengths, but also gain an insight into scientific psychology to better understand yourself and other people.

This episode is all about you! Maybe you know the line from “Pirates of the Caribbean” that Jack Sparrow’s father once said to his son: “It’s not just about living forever, Jackie. The trick is to be able to live with yourself forever.” The psychology of Star Trek has an answer to this, knows “the trick”, so to speak, which you can certainly use at the end of the lecture.

How can we lead a value-creating life? How can we be and remain in harmony with ourselves and others? How can we build resilience?

In answering these questions – accompanied by one or two aha moments – we will find out together how much we actually have in common so that we can move forward with Warp 9 full of energy, courage and confidence.

Miriam Lenz is looking forward to meeting you!

Lecturer: Miriam Lenz
Duration: 60 min  -  The Lecture will be held in: german

I knew I wanted to be a teacher as early as primary school. The first Harry Potter film reinforced this desire, because Hogwarts brought with it a school atmosphere that inspired my ideas about the future as a child and still fascinates me today. When I found out after leaving school that psychology could be studied and taught, I knew that I wanted to know everything about psychology! To better understand myself and other people, to find out what makes up and influences personality, etc.

So far, psychology is only taught at a few schools and it's a shame that this is (still) the case. There is hardly any other subject that affects us all equally and directly. It was only recently that I realised that I was dealing with psychology - long before the first Harry Potter film - in the Star Trek series, in which, for example, unconditional acceptance of individuality is exemplified and critical topics are not taboo. Star Trek is positive and humanistic psychology in action, which is worth incorporating into our everyday lives, now more than ever!
