Who doesn’t know it? You need several identical armor parts/accessories/gadgets or you want to provide them with special material properties (e.g. metallic gloss, hard but somewhat flexible, soft, transparent for LEDs etc.). Or you want to be able to reproduce the painstakingly produced masterpiece if a part breaks down. With silicone moulds of all kinds you can fulfil the above mentioned requirements and even more.
In this workshop the Hydra Forge team will show you how to mould a science fiction gadget with silicone and then pour it with resin and additives to create realistic replicas. The know-how gained is transferable to a wide range of applications and other forms will be discussed as well.
All participants receive the same gadget and create the form step by step under our guidance and demonstration. At the end the participants are allowed to take their moulds and castings with them.
Questions about own projects and ideas will be answered and discussed in an open round.
The workshop Moulding Sci-Fi gadget on FedCon 29 will be led by 2-3 lecturers and will include a presentation, the imparting of theoretical knowledge about mould making and material as well as the practical creation of the mould.
