Today, superhero film adaptations are gigantic multimillion dollar projects that are generating record box office results worldwide. But they have only become possible since film technology has been able to bring everything you can imagine to the big screen. In the meantime it is almost forgotten that it was not so long ago that superhero films were still B-projects. Robert Vogel gives an overview of these films.

Since the mid 70s he is active in the fandom, writes as a freelance journalist for various fantastic magazines and gives lectures at about 20 conventions a year. He is just as much at home shooting fantastic films and series as he is at events of the European Space Agency, where he enjoys spreading the "SciFi virus".
