Star Trek – Medicine and Medical Devices vs. Today’s Reality in 21st Century Medicine
In the entire Star Trek universe there are numerous innovative ideas and medical products, which were already used in Star Trek: The Original Series and then of course also in the later series and movies.
Most of these devices, such as hyperinjectors, operating tables, laser knives or computer-assisted surgery, already exist in modern medicine, whereas they were far away at the time of production.
