

FedCon 34 | Ante Dekovic

Ante Dekovic is a Croatian-born, Germany-raised, and internationally active visual effects supervisor and Emmy Award winner who has established himself as one of the most distinguished specialists in visual effects within the science fiction and fantasy film and television industry. He was born in Šibenik, Croatia, and moved with his family to Germany at a young age, where he developed his passion for film and digital effects, before relocating to the United States in 2005 to work in Hollywood.
In the world of Star Trek, Ante Dekovic has played a key role as a VFX Supervisor on several of the most important recent series. He was part of the creative teams behind Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, as well as Star Trek: Short Treks, contributing significantly to the spectacular visual effects that have become a hallmark of the modern era of the franchise. For his work on an episode of the third season of Discovery, he won an Emmy Award in the category “Outstanding Special Visual Effects,” after having been nominated multiple times previously. His effects and visual concepts have been instrumental in bringing the rich Star Trek universe to life with believable and captivating space scenes, starships, and futuristic environments. In addition, he appeared on screen in Discovery, portraying the science officer Kroad in the second season, underscoring his connection to the franchise both behind and in front of the camera.
