17. March 2019Klingon in the media
21. March 2019With Star Trek: Discovery, the Klingon language is on everyone’s lips again.
- But is this a real language?
- Can you really speak Klingon?
- And does Sheldon speak real Klingon?
- Has the Bible really been translated into Klingon and is learning Klingon actually difficult?
Klingon teacher Lieven L. Litaer answers these and many other interesting questions in his lecture Klingon for Beginners in an entertaining yet instructive way, without assuming any knowledge of Star Trek or linguistics. If you think Klingon is totally unnecessary and is not spoken by anyone, you will see the world through different eyes after this lecture. It’s unbelievable how many places you meet the language of the warriors.
To attend the lecture at FedCon you need neither language skills nor experience with science fiction. The topic is so varied that it is suitable for every cosmopolitan listener.
