Whether it’s Hogwarts, the United Federation of Planets or Duckburg – we all love the exciting fictional worlds from films, novels and television. But what is it like to be an author who gets to write for these worlds, develop new material and depict new adventures
FedCon veteran Christian Humberg has been doing just that for almost two decades! The author and scenarist writes novels and comics for Hollywood and, together with Bernd Perplies, has published the first official Trek novels from a German pen with “Star Trek: Prometheus”. His new comics for “Wickie und die starken Männer”, “Playmobil”, “Drachenzähmen leicht gemacht” and “Hotel Transsilvanien” are published throughout Europe, and his novels for German cult brands such as “Geisterjäger John Sinclair” and “Perry Rhodan Neo” have been nominated for awards.
In this entertaining and informative lecture, the creative talks about his work for franchises and licences and gives valuable tips for up-and-coming authors.

Duration: 60 min - The Lecture will be held in: germanChristian Humberg writes novels, comics, theatre plays and non-fiction books for children and adults; he also works as a literary translator and editor. Long-time FedCon visitors know him for "Star Trek: Prometheus", "Sorge dich nicht, beame" and, of course, "Geek Pray Love".
His works have already been translated into almost a dozen languages and adapted for the stage many times, and his columns appear in the press throughout Germany as well as in the S.Fischer publishing house and on SYFY. The successful publicist was awarded the German Fantasy Prize at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2015. Humberg lives in front of a PC monitor that blocks his view of the Eifel forest.
