FedCon 32 | Vortrag | Star Trek Filming Sites V

“Star Trek. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the fans, their continuing mission: to explore sites of ‘on location’ filming, to take photos. To boldly go where film crews have gone before.”

And the journey continues… The lecture Star Trek Filming Sites V goes to places where scenes for Star Trek series or films were shot and compares shots from the well-known productions with current photos of these locations. This includes locations from the new series Discovery and Picard as well as from earlier productions. Although these expand on a series of 4 previous talks – which have been shown at recent FedCon events – this talk is independent and does not build on those parts (just avoids overlap).

Both on a GeekNation tour with Larry Nemecek and on private trips, Robert Kaiser has tried to capture the clips used in Star Trek as photographically as possible or at least to make it clear where and how they were filmed.

As a result, he is able to offer a range of locations, from those used only once to those used frequently, and with a dash of humour provide an entertaining impression of these filming locations – as far as you like to look behind the scenes …

Note: The lecture “Star Trek Filming Sites IV”, also offered by Robert Kaiser, is presented in English and contains different content.

Lecturer: Robert Kaiser
Duration: 30 min  -  The Lecture will be held in: german

Robert Kaiser (nickname "KaiRo") is excited about many things about the future and technology - be it as an IT freelancer where he's in touch with currently emerging technologies, or be it looking even further into a possible future as a fan of Sci-Fi and Star Trek, and founder of the Sci-Fi trading company "Trade Post 47".

While science and technology has initially ignited his interest in Star Trek, its philosophy of inclusion and "IDIC" (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) as well as the optimistic view on the future made him stick with and fall in love with that "franchise".

Robert is based in Vienna/Austria, a member of the Austrian fan club "Galactic Friendship", and loves traveling to the USA - especially to the yearly Star Trek Las Vegas conventions.
