It’s going to be a feast for all fans of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, because Babs Olusanmokun has once again joined the guest line-up for the successful series. The Nigerian-American actor lends charismatic life to the role of Dr M’Benga.

Before the two-time gold medallist (at the Pam American Games in the sport of Jiu Jitsu) set off into the vastness of the Star Trek galaxy, Olusanmokun gained acting experience on the theatre stage and through guest appearances in numerous US series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, The Blacklist, Gotham and Sneaky Pete.

His fame finally increased significantly with the roles of Omoro Kinte in the mini-series Roots (2016) and as Sowande in the Netflix series Marvel’s The Defenders. Babs Olusanmokun also regularly appears in film productions, including as Jamis in Dune (2021).
