Kate Mulgrew

Kate Mulgrew is inseparably linked to the Star Trek universe for many fans: As Captain Kathryn Janeway, she led the crew of the USS Voyager on their seven-year journey through the Delta Quadrant in Star Trek: Voyager. In doing so, she not only made Star Trek history but also portrayed the first female captain in a leading role in a Star Trek series. She later returned to the franchise as Janeway in Star Trek: Prodigy, among other appearances – this time as a hologram and admiral.

But Kate Mulgrew is capable of much more than Starfleet. She made a name for herself early on with series such as Ryan’s Hope and Mrs. Columbo. She has also been active as a voice actress in a wide variety of productions, including the 2025 Disney Pixar film Elio. She became known to a new audience as Galina “Red” Reznikov in the hit series Orange Is the New Black.

Whether as a captain, hologram, or hot-tempered prison cook – Kate Mulgrew has proven for decades that she is at home in a wide range of roles. All the more exciting for her fans: FedCon 35 will see the charismatic actress come to Germany as a special guest, bringing plenty of stories from her long and impressive career with her, of course.
