Robert Picardo

As the equally quick-witted and self-confident Emergency Medical Hologram, Robert Picardo made Star Trek history. For seven seasons, he portrayed the holographic physician initially known simply as “the Doctor” on Star Trek: Voyager. Originally programmed as an Emergency Medical Hologram, the EMH evolved into one of the series’ most multifaceted and beloved characters – complete with a growing personality, artistic ambitions, and a wonderfully dry sense of humor.

Robert Picardo also left his mark elsewhere in the Star Trek universe. He played the EMH in Star Trek: First Contact, appeared on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as his creator, Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, and directed two episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. Decades later, he finally returned in Star Trek: Prodigy as the voice of the Doctor.

Science-fiction fans also know Robert Picardo well from the Stargate universe. As Richard Woolsey, he appeared in Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. His other ventures into the fantastic genre include The Howling, Innerspace, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Smallville, and The Orville.
