Brent Spiner

Brent Spiner is one of those actors who are inseparably linked to science fiction for many fans. His signature role is, of course, the android Lieutenant Commander Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, whom he portrayed throughout all seven seasons with a unique blend of dry humor, childlike curiosity and great humanity. Spiner also appeared as Data in all four feature films Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis – once again demonstrating his remarkable versatility. Alongside Data, he also played his “evil” brother Lore, Data’s creator Dr. Noonien Soong and the android B-4.

But Spiner’s journey through the Star Trek universe was far from over. In Star Trek: Enterprise, he took on the role of Dr. Arik Soong, an ancestor of Data’s creator, and in Star Trek: Picard, he eventually returned once more as Data. At the same time, he portrayed several other members of the Soong family – quite an impressive record for a single actor!

Outside the Trek universe, Spiner also clearly feels at home in fantastic worlds. He achieved cult status as the eccentric scientist Dr. Brakish Okun in Independence Day and returned to the role in 2016 in Independence Day: Resurgence. Among his other appearances were roles in The Aviator, Warehouse 13 and The Big Bang Theory. His career, however, began on stage, including performances on Broadway.

At FedCon, Brent Spiner is certainly no stranger – and above all, a hugely popular guest. It is therefore all the more exciting that the charismatic actor will be returning to Germany for FedCon 35. Get ready for fascinating stories from the Star Trek universe, plenty of humor and, of course, the man who has thrilled generations of fans as Data!
