He rose to worldwide fame as Commander William T. Riker in <em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>, a role he later reprised in the feature films <em>Star Trek Generations<\/em>, <em>Star Trek: First Contact<\/em>, <em>Star Trek: Insurrection<\/em>, and <em>Star Trek: Nemesis<\/em>, as well as in the television series <em>Star Trek: Deep Space Nine<\/em>, <em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>, <em>Star Trek: Enterprise<\/em>, <em>Star Trek: Lower Decks<\/em>, and <em>Star Trek: Picard<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p local-id=\"8a189a04c5dc\">However, <strong>Jonathan Frakes<\/strong> has excelled not only in front of the camera. As a director, he has helmed numerous episodes across several <em>Star Trek<\/em> series and directed the feature films <em>Star Trek: First Contact<\/em> and <em>Star Trek: Insurrection<\/em>. Beyond the franchise, he has also built an impressive directing career, with credits including <em>Clockstoppers<\/em>, <em>Thunderbirds<\/em>, and episodes of series such as <em>The Orville<\/em>, <em>Roswell<\/em>, <em>Leverage<\/em>, <em>Castle<\/em>, and <em>Marvel&#8217;s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.<\/em><\/p>\n<p local-id=\"aa1e2b4e9493\">Within the science fiction and fantasy genre, <strong>Jonathan Frakes<\/strong> has also appeared as a voice actor in <em>Gargoyles<\/em> and made guest appearances in productions including <em>Roswell<\/em> and <em>The Librarians<\/em>.
