FedCon 34 | Tim Russ

Tim Russ is familiar to many fans as Commander Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager-the Vulcan whose calm presence and subtle irony shaped the series over seven seasons. With this role, Russ not only made Star Trek history, but also gave the character a depth that remains unforgettable to this day.
But his path to Starfleet was no accident: he had previously appeared in smaller roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine before becoming the perfect choice for the role of Voyager’s chief security officer.
Outside of Starfleet, Russ has demonstrated a broad artistic spectrum-he is an actor, director, musician, and voice actor. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his versatility in countless productions and has also directed several Star Trek fan projects and independent films.
He has also made a name for himself as a musician, thrilling audiences with his band’s funky, soulful interpretations and original compositions. With over four decades in the film and television business, Tim Russ is a true all-rounder whose heart still beats for the Star Trek universe – a fact that fans at FedCon 34 are sure to appreciate.
Fun fact: Tim Russ played the role of a stormtrooper combing the desert in Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs (1987). His character is famous for the cult line “We found nothing here!”
