FedCon 34 | Martin Quinn

Martin Quinn, born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1994, is no longer an unknown quantity-but for the Star Trek community, his name means one thing above all else: Scotty.
He appeared as a young Montgomery Scott in the finale of the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, surprising fans with his down-to-earth interpretation. In season 3, he was officially added to the main cast, making Quinn the first Scottish actor to take command of the iconic engineering room.
Quinn approaches the challenge of continuing the legendary character played by James Doohan (and later Simon Pegg) with conscious humility and his own style. He not only pays homage to earlier versions, but also brings his own perspective to the role, ensuring that Scotty is not just a carbon copy, but a living, breathing character.
Away from the warp core, Martin Quinn gained early theater experience: at 18, he won the lead role in “Let the Right One In” for the National Theater of Scotland, later appearing on renowned stages such as the Old Vic and in the West End. His portfolio also includes film and TV projects such as The Lovers, Derry Girls, and Scottish comedy sketch shows.
For you as fans, this means that at FedCon 34, you will not only get to meet a star guest who comes straight from the engine room of the Enterprise-you will meet someone who, with heart, humor, and genuine Scottish roots, is redefining the legend of Scotty. When else will you have the chance to experience “Beam me up, Scotty!” in person?
