FedCon 34 | Specials | Die große Star Trek Quiz Show - Discovery Panel

The Discovery Panel podcast brings a live format to the stage with the big Star Trek quiz show, where you don’t just watch, you participate. Contestants from the audience volunteer to take a journey through the Star Trek universe-sometimes confidently, sometimes hesitantly, often surprisingly clever. And always live.
What exactly happens unfolds in the moment. It’s about knowledge, memory lapses, gut feelings, and occasionally the question of why you’ve never forgotten that one episode. Hosted by Andreas Dohm and Sebastian Sonntag, the result is a show that’s part quiz, part competition, and part collective Star Trek celebration, where cheering is expressly encouraged and laughter is definitely part of the fun.
Not everyone gets equally far. Some are eliminated earlier, others last longer. Decisions are made spontaneously, twists and turns happen on stage – and the audience is not just there, but right in the middle of it all. Perfection is not the goal here, but fun is.
And then there’s the finale. At the end, a special challenge awaits – and a person about whom only this much is revealed in advance: A secret Star Trek super expert is joining in. Who that is remains a mystery until they appear. One thing is certain: it won’t be easy.
The big Star Trek quiz show is aimed at fans with very different levels of knowledge. Those who know a lot can shine. Those who know less will quickly realize that just being there is half the battle.
About the speaker:
The Discovery Panel is the German-language podcast for everyone who not only watches Star Trek, but also likes to delve a little deeper into it. Since 2017, hosts Andreas Dohm and Sebastian Sonntag have been talking about the franchise with an analytical eye, a lot of humor, and genuine enthusiasm – following the modern timeline: from Star Trek: Discovery to Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Prodigy to Strange New Worlds and Starfleet Academy.
The focus is never just on new episodes, but always on the bigger picture: characters, values, and the question of why Star Trek has been successful for decades. One example of this is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, to which the Discovery Panel has dedicated its own podcast series – because the film shows like no other how political, playful, and surprisingly relevant Star Trek can be.
With over 600 episodes to date, the Discovery Panel has built up a loyal audience. Where others summarize, here they discuss, sharpen their arguments, and sometimes even disagree – with attitude, heart, and an audible desire to think together.
