How is a reproduction of a popular scene from TV or cinema, a diorama, created?
In the showroom you can admire many models, but how are they created in the first place. You can buy kits or design, model or 3D print them yourself. They also have to be painted and then soiled in a lifelike way. Have you heard everything before, but how does it all fit together?
In my lecture From the original to the shelf at FedCon 29 I would like to tell you in anecdotes about one of my models from the TV series The Expanse what is necessary to bring a model here in the exhibition room and later on to your own shelf. And what can happen. Curious situations, crass mistakes and misjudgements and sometimes even luck are part of everyday life here. Accompanies me on a 5 month journey, from the first idea to the completion.
Will you reach for brushes and glue afterwards?
