FedCon 31 | Vortrag | Eine Galaxis voller Bücher | Florian Baur

Under the title A galaxy full of books: Worldbuilding in Star Wars, Florian Baur takes you into the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy – or more precisely, into the worlds of books and comics in which the saga is further imagined. Discover resourcefully conceived non-fiction works and unconventional book concepts whose creators have given free rein to their creativity. Find out, for example, how a second of movie time in Rogue One later turned into a queer love affair full of betrayal, death and destruction, or what kernels of truth there might be in the (horror) tales Luke and Leia were told as children.

No matter if you have never read a Star Wars book or if your collection already exceeds the capacity of your living room – with a good pinch of curiosity, a certain passion for Star Wars and a tolerance for dry humor, this lecture at FedCon 32 is just right for you.

Lecturer: Florian Baur
Duration: 60 min  -  The Lecture will be held in: german

Florian Baur has been reading Star Wars books for more than 20 years and has been running the fan site Jedi-Bibliothek.de for 12 years, which offers news, reviews, timelines, a podcast and probably the most comprehensive Star Wars book database on the Internet, covering everything about the powerful (and not so powerful) novels, non-fiction, comics, magazines and more about Star Wars.

When he's not teaching foreign languages full-time or maintaining the gigantic Jedi-Bibliothek database as a hobby, he's also been a translator and editor for the Official Star Wars Magazine (with the subscription-exclusive Journal of the Whills) and a freelance editorial contributor to Panini's Star Wars comics magazine for several years.
