We make it short and precise: Jamie Bamber from the TV series Battlestar Galactica comes to Bonn for FedCon 27 in May.
Bamber was educated at St Paul’s School in London, and graduated with a first class honours degree in Modern Languages (Italian and French) from St John’s College, Cambridge, before attending and graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
In 2001 he took on a supporting role in the HBO production Band of Brothers, co-produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. From 2003 to 2008 he played the role of Captain/Major/Commander/President Lee “Apollo” Adama in Battlestar Galactica, respectively the previous miniserie. For this role the actually blonde actor colored his hair dark, as also Richard Hatch had dark hair in the original Apollo.
In addition to the well-known role in Battlestar Galactica, Jamie Bamber also played in Law & Order: UK, The Smoke, Navy CIS, Marcella, and Fearless. His newest movie is Crystal Inferno: “Disaster hits when two teenagers are caught in a fire on the 20th floor of a skyscraper. Their parents are on the 60th. Will they survive the flames?”
